The Podiatrist
Mrs Clayton graduated
from the Birmingham School of Chiropody and Podiatric Medicine
in 1992. She has worked within the private sector part time since
1992 and has spent over 7 years working part time in the NHS.
During her time in
the NHS she ran a hospital diabetic foot clinic and podopaediatric(children's)
clinic. She took a 6 month sabbatical in 1998 to undertake work
in Canada, treating diabetics on Indian Reserves. She assisted
the diabetologist with neurological and vascular assessments at
his screening clinics and undertook routine chiropody clinics
as well as treating and managing diabetic ulcers.
A fully comprehensive
podiatry service is offered including:
- Treatment and removal
of painful corns and calluses
- Thickened nails
- Ingrown or difficult
to manage nails
- Fungal infections
of the skin and nails
- Verrucae

local anaesthesia)

She has special interests
in certain areas alongside her everyday clinical treatments. These
include diabetic and high/at risk groups, nail surgery under local
anaesthesia, podopaediatrics (children's foot problems), sports
injuries, biomechanics/gait analysis and prescription orthotic
devices to help relieve symptoms and improve foot function.
Mrs Clayton undertakes
continued professional development to keep her skills and knowledge
up to date.

Visiting
the clinic
The Clinic is on the
Old Woking Road in the heart of West Byfleet opposite Waitrose.
There is pay and display parking on the main road outside or you
could park in the Waitrose car park. The Clinic is situated on
the first floor of the building.
The area is served
well by buses with stops along the Old Woking Road. There is also
a nearby train station (West Byfleet).
